Our Story & Vision

Rooted in lived experience, driven by a commitment to dignity and justice.

WHO WE ARE

Youth Leading Change

The KESHO Alliance is a youth-led organization with a core value of promoting peacebuilding, democracy, and human rights in underserved and hard-to-reach communities across Kenya. Our work is grounded in the philosophy that young people are future leaders who hold the power to build more peaceful, inclusive, and equitable societies.

Born in Garissa, one of Kenya’s most marginalized counties, our story comes from lived experience. We are young people who understand the realities of exclusion, insecurity, and limited civic space. This drives our commitment to create opportunities that restore dignity, strengthen community resilience, and ensure meaningful participation in governance for every young person.

Our approach connects grassroots, national, and global influence in addressing human challenges. We build partnerships with government institutions, civil society, the private sector, and international organizations to ensure that solutions designed by youth are supported and scaled.

Our Reach and Partnerships

Local experience shapes our contribution to national and global policy conversations.

We operate in Garissa, Wajir, Mandera, Tana River, Turkana, and other underserved regions where youth are most affected by conflict, poverty, and shrinking civic space.

Our partnerships include county and national government institutions, global advocacy networks, civil society, academic institutions, community-based organizations, and international development partners. Through these collaborations, we ensure that local perspectives influence national and global policy frameworks.

We have contributed to high-level platforms including the Youth Sounding Board of the European Commission, the UN, AU, and IGAD. We also maintain strong partnerships with county governments in the counties where we operate.
